Delete your account and data

You can delete your rooms-eg.com account and your personal data at any time. This works the same way whether you signed up with your phone or email, or with Google or Facebook.

Delete it yourself (immediate)

1. Sign in at rooms-eg.com.
2. Open Account → Edit details, or go straight to rooms-eg.com/en/account/edit.
3. Scroll to Delete account and press Delete my account.
4. Confirm by typing DELETE. If your account has a password, enter it too. Accounts created with Google or Facebook only need the word.

Your account is deleted at once and you are signed out. This cannot be undone.

Can't sign in? Ask us

Email support@rooms-eg.com with the subject "Delete my account". Send it from the email address on your account, or include the mobile number you registered with. We may ask you to confirm that you own the account, then delete it within 30 days and reply to confirm.

What is deleted

• Your profile: name, mobile number, email address, password, photo, bio and settings, including the link to your Google or Facebook account.
• All your listings, including expired and removed ones, with their photos, and other people's favourites and reports on them.
• Your housing requests, your favourites, the reviews you wrote, and the reviews others wrote about you.
• The record of contact details you revealed, your sign-in sessions and tokens, verification codes, password reset links, your newsletter subscription, and the security log entries about your account.

What we keep, and for how long

• Backups: copies in our backups are overwritten within 14 days.
• Reports you sent about other people's listings stay for moderation history, with your name and IP address removed.
• Emails you sent us, and anything we must keep by law or to deal with fraud or a legal claim, are kept only as long as necessary.

Remove the app from Facebook or Google

Deleting your account removes everything we hold. To also remove rooms-eg.com from your connected apps:

• Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites → select rooms-eg.com → Remove.
• Google: visit myaccount.google.com/connections, choose rooms-eg.com and select "Delete all connections".

Staff accounts

Admin and moderator accounts cannot delete themselves. Ask another admin, or email us.
